Today was a lot of fun! Kudos to everyone who came in their Halloween best! Just before this, the primary classes came around in parade style, and we got to see our little buddies!
The Projet de Construction pour les Sciences Humaines was due today. They look great! I will share a photo Monday once I get them into the display case. Some serious hard work and effort can be seen for sure. Any outstanding parts/projects should be submitted Monday svp.
Examen de Dictee 4 lundi (we didn’t get to it today)
It was absolutely lovely meeting with so many of you these past 2 days. I think it’s crucial that everyone be in the know and up to date on everything, it really ensures each student’s best success. If we didn’t get to meet and you’d like to, please reach out, we will arrange something!
I know this is a very last moment reminder, but the travel brochure is due tomorrow. As well, the Socials project is due on Friday.
Tomorrow is also Jumeux Jeudi, or Twinning Thursday, I can’t wait to see pics! Anna and I will be twinning here at home 🙂 And Friday, of course, costumes or Halloween related garb is encouraged.
I can’t wait to see everyone’s hard work on Friday! À bientôt!
Mismatched Monday was quite the success! Love seeing the school spirit! Tomorrow is Tie Dye Tuesday!
Parent-Teacher conferences start tomorrow. Early dismissal 1:22/1:32. Students are encouraged to accompany their parents, unless parents want to talk without them. If you selected a virtual meeting, you should receive an email with the invitation link later today. If we are meeting in person, please see Mrs Simonetto’s email regarding health and safety procedures. We are aiming for 10 or 15 minute conferences, should we need more time we can schedule another meeting for another time. If you have not yet signed up for conferences, please email me directly and I will let you know what times I have left.
Students have lots of assignments/projects on their plates right now:
Mon Passe-Temps Préféré paragraphs are due ASAP. Students were shown this afternoon how to share documents (logged into office using their school accounts).
Travel Brochure (Mme Kloosterhof) – powerpoint with instructions/rubric can be found on Teams under Files
Sciences Humaines- Projet de Construction due vendredi
Happy Sunday, families! Hope you have been enjoying the lovely, crisp fall weather.
Just wanted to remind everyone of a few things for the week:
Spirit Week! Starting with Mismatched Monday tomorrow!
Conferences Tuesday and Wednesday (1:22/1:32 dismissal)
Also, as the temperature continues to drop, I always like to encourage parents to remind their children to dress accordingly/appropriately for outside time. Students often show up in just a hoodie, which is not sufficient for the chilly temperatures. Thanks in advance 🙂
We had a very busy day today. Our first big project was assigned today! A two-part project on prehistoric people. I will be sharing the rubric for evaluation tomorrow with the class, then I will post a copy of both the outline and the rubric here for just in case. I am super excited to see what everyone comes up with!
We explored adding integers today, which I consider our first complex math concept of the year.
I mentioned this to students, but we are using a new method to communicate student learning this year, meaning students will not receive letter grades on formal report cards. This evening, the district is offering an information session outlining the changes and what the proficiency scales mean. You are encouraged to read the post on the district web site (linked here) and attend the info session this evening at 7:00pm. It is happening via Teams, the district’s virtual platform of choice. You can find the link to the info session in the link above (scroll down).
It would be beneficial for you to have this knowledge now, as our first conferences take place in a couple weeks.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs Simonetto. Thanks!
(also I forgot to post the homework yesterday, so here it is)
