Today students filled out their Term 1 Self-Reflections. I look forward to reading them over and sharing some highlights in their report cards.
We also used Gizmos for the first time this year. I love showing real world applications for Math concepts. I appreciate students’ patience with our laptops today, unfortunately they don’t all work which is frustrating.
A reminder that the pick up for Neufeld Farms Fundraiser is today at 3pm.
Lastly, a reminder to finish up and submit any outstanding work. Mme K and I are steadily marking and working on report cards.
We spent a decent amount of time in PE today playing volleyball games. I am super impressed at the steady improvement I am seeing in everyone!
We started the second part of our Christmas Around The World projects today. Students have been tasked to create a non-fiction text one-pager describing how Christmas is celebrated in the country they chose. They need to include as many text features as they can (that are appropriate to the information they have to share. The project outline can be found on the Teams Assignment. Students will have 1 more work period on Friday, then will have the weekend to complete.
ADST Project presentations start tomorrow. Not sure when you are presenting? The schedule is on Teams.
We started a little holiday project today in preparation for the Christmas Concert Video the school is creating. Your child should know how to wish someone Merry Christmas in a different language, ask them! We will be starting part 2 of this project tomorrow 🙂
We also wrote our Operations with Integers Math Test today.
Education Physique et Orchestre demain
Quiz- Les Mots al/ail/ou/eau/eu aux pluriel demain
Christmas Around the World Visual due EOD demain (hard copy or digital)
jeudi- Presentations start for ADST project
Another reminder that log in access to the online progress website TeacherEase was sent via email yesterday. It’s a great way for you to stay informed on your child’s progress throughout the term so that report cards aren’t a surprise. If you didn’t receive that email please let me know (check your junk folder first!).
Hope you are enjoying your day off! Just a reminder to finish up your Wanted Poster on Teams and turn the assignment in.
Parents, I have officially sent you access to your child’s progress on TeachEase, you should have received an email. I encourage you to browse the site and check out your child’s progress so far. A good strategy if you have any questions is to ask your child about the assignment and see what they have to say before reaching out to me 🙂 I often leave notes in the comment section for each assignment (overall and individually) that provide more information. We are inching closer to first term reports and I don’t want anyone to be surprised when they are published.
Also don’t forget about the Math test tomorrow- there are a couple of review activities on Teams Assignments.
We started today with a journal entry about what we are thankful for in Div 1 and a lot of students wrote about the sunshine this morning. I felt the same way!
Not everyone had their research done for their ADST projects today unfortunately. However, we are still going to begin presenting next week (November 26.) There is a list in our class’ Microsoft Teams of who is presenting when.
As a class, we created a list of expectations for the presentations, and from that I created our rubric. I have attached both here.
Research must be finished by next Thursday. There will be no more class time allotted for research or creation, as we will start watching the presentations in one week, and they have had three days’ worth of classes to work on these projects.
