Désolé, mes amis. Not feeling in the best of health today. Hopefully you had a good day 🙂
Don’t forget that you’re off to the park tomorrow with Mme Kloosterhof. Bring some fun things to do (equipment etc), and if you’re interested in the water park, make sure you’ve got your swim gear (or clothes to get wet in). Also don’t forget appropriate shoes, headgear and sunscreen! Have a blast, can’t want to hear about it on Friday!
Lastly, let’s talk Friday. I was thinking we could spend some portion of the morning outside on the field doing fun things. I can hook up the hose if we want water involved. So bring a towel, fun things to do, hat sunscreen etc. We can can brainstorm on Teams before Friday. Also, the auction will be held Friday afternoon!
Joyeuses Fêtes des Pères! Désolé, I was quite busy yesterday and forgot to post.
Today was a very busy and fun day! The guiding theme of our day was National Indigenous People’s Day. We started the morning by watching a greeting message, and a drumming and song from the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil’Waututh nations.
Then, we headed outside where Spencer taught us a traditional Haida Hoop and Stick game, and Isaac taught us a Roman Gladiator Game.
We are also developing our ability to create an infographic and are incorporating our knowledge of Indigenous Peoples’ Culture and History at the same time 🙂

anyone with outstanding curricular and core competency self-reflection are in at lunch tomorrow.
This afternoon we had our last Health Chat with Jannika- today we covered Sexual Orientation and Gender Indentity. Such an interesting and important topic! The documents she showed during the presentation today (Genderbread Person, Gender Galaxy and Sexuality Galaxy have been posted on Teams. The biggest take away is the inclusivity aspect. We are all free to identify and express ourselves as we see fit, and we we also need to respect others’ in their identity and expression.
Hopefully you saw the email about our Farewell celebrations on the evening of the 28th. A reminder that this is a closed event, staff and students only. Parents can watch the livestream of the ceremony on Teams. You can also expect an email from me later with some additional information related to that evening.

lundi- students with outstanding work will stay in at recess and lunch until they are caught up.
Today was a big day of self reflection! Students were asked to begin reflecting on and sharing what they felt were their areas strength and opportunities for growth for specific subjects, which I will be including in their reports cards. They were also formally introduced to the Core Competencies of the curriculum, and will be creating a self-reflection on their communication and creative thinking abilities. These self-reflections will be shared directly to your email around report card time.
Mne Riznek, Mr Rogers, Mr Knox and I are just finalizing the details for Farewell on the 28th, then we’ll share with you. Thanks for your patience!

any students with missing work will be staying in at recess and lunch in order to catch up, starting LUNDI
What a dark and gloomy day! Hopefully that’s it for the week…
We started our last Socials project, and we saved the best for last- Arts and Rec! I can’t wait to see what everyone creates!
I will be following up in the next few days with everyone who has work to hand in. It is possible that recesses will be given up in order to finish up missing work.
Friday afternoon we will be having one final virtual session with Jannika. In this session we will be discussing issues related to SOGI (Sexual orientation and Gender Inclusion). From how Jannika has approached gender diversity already, I think this session is going to be very information and powerful.
Merci et Bravo à tous for their participation and effort during our T&F day. We had (almost) the perfect weather to do our 6 events- 4000m, High Jump, 100m, Ball Throw, 200m and Long Jump. We then, of course, finished the day with freezies. You can expect some physically tired bodies 🙂
Thanks to everyone handed in their Myth Storybooks today, they look great! I have passed them over to Mme Stopa’s class to enjoy 🙂 If you are still working on yours, please get it to me ASAP, merci!
Track and Field Day tomorrow!!
We are so excited to able to hold a modified version of this. Thanks to Mrs Sales and Mr Knox for organizing it. We will be outside for almost the whole day, so come prepared! Dress accordingly! It’s going to start off cool and damp and probably warm up and dry out as the day progresses- dress in layers! Wear appropriate shoes and socks! Bring extra socks if/when your feet get gross. Bring LOTS of water. Bring EXTRA (like, extra extra) food! And most importantly, bring a good attitude.
