We had a fun but productive day today!
We stood and watched the primary classes do their costume parade, then headed to our little buddies to watch their costume fashion show- then we walked the red carpet! So fun!
We wrote the Quiz- ER au présent/
6mes wrote their PPMC quiz.
7mes started the FSAs.

Another busy but good day!
We wrote our third Examen de Dictee this morning, our longest one yet. Hopefully the students are catching on to the system and will start to see some good progression in their results.
We have a verb quiz on Monday, the Blooket is available for practice.
We had Enrichment this morning, sounds like the different groups are starting to make some good progress in their respective areas. We have 4 more meetings this term.
This afternoon I tried something I’ve never done before. Students were given free range to create an art piece, using whatever medium they wanted, inspired by our current season, Halloween or how they were feeling today. I am so happy to report that the 40 minutes they had were really used well, and the art pieces that were/are being completed are amazing. Students used a variety of mediums and were inspired by different things, and had some really good conversations about what they were making and doing and seeing etc. I am honestly not surprised with this group, but I am so happy that it went well. The students will be completing a self-reflection on their art piece next week, which will be used to decide a proficiency for this task. Once all the pieces are installed in our ‘gallery’, I will share a pic. But I did snap one of everyone engaged in their work for you.

Another busy day in the chalet!
We had to have PE outside this morning, as the gym was being used for photo retakes. It was definitely a little chilly.
We ended the visiting with our little buddies, helping them decorate their classroom door for Spooktacular 🙂
Grade 7s: just a heads up were are starting FSAs next week. Parents- if you DO NOT want your child to participate in FSA’s, please reach out to Mme Gracie as soon as possible.

It was so nice to see so many of you this afternoon and evening! I think we had a lot of really constructive and purposeful chats to set us up for success the rest of the term. It was also super nice meeting so many of you, I love making connections with new families (and of course reconnecting with previous families as well!).

So nice to be back and see everyone’s faces! I definitely missed the class. We were able to cet caught up on most things, so that’s good.
Grade 6s received their immunization envelopes today. Please take a look, sign and return for Monday.
Mrs Drummond sent home a parent contact form as our Class Parent, please take a look. I am also attaching a digital copy below because many were left on tables at the end of the day 😐
I am very excited to see many of you tomorrow for conferences! I am booked solid from 2:00pm- 7:30 so please try and be as on time as possible. As well, I’d love if you brought your child, unless you have something you’d like to discuss without them present, I think it can be very valuable for them to be included in conversations about their own learning.

I just wanted to touch base with everyone as I was away Friday and today. I am feeling much better and will be back tomorrow. I’m sure everything went well with the TTOC’s while I was away.
Tomorrow we will pick up where we left off, we have our Examen de Dictee 2 and our Quiz: À/A/As to do. I will extend both of the blooket links for you to review with. I will also put both Dictee 2a and 2b below. Reminder that they will be combined and changed up a bit for the Examen.

Wednesday and Thursday are early dismissal at 1:33 for conferences. I believe I am all booked on Wednesday so please email me if you don’t have a time with me and would like one. I would love if you and your child attended the conference, unless there is something specific you would like to chat about without them present.
Friday is a Pro D, so no school for students.
The Scholastic Book Fair is happening this week, I’m hoping to visit as a class so consider sending along some funds for your child in case they want to purchase something. You can also attend before or after your conference.

We started volleyball in gym today!!! My absolute favourite!
We finish our day with our little buddies helping them make a cute little Halloween craft. I love watching our class interact with their littles, they all do such an amazing job. Merci et bravo les amis!

We have a short but busy week this week!
We are having Dictée 2 this week. Students receive a new text today and tomorrow, and will have the Examen on Friday. Next Monday they will write a quiz on the weekly rule.
You should have received an email to sign up for a conference next week, as well as an email from me. I will be here for conferences on Wednesday and Mme Shak on Thursday. If you want to see me but cannot get a time slot, please email me.
