Felt so weird going over the day this morning. We haven’t had a Friday in so long 😀

We wrote our first Examen de Dictee this morning, I think it went well, I will be looking them over this weekend. I looked at the stats from the Blooket and it looks like some people spent time at home reviewing with it, which is great!

We also did some writing in French reflecting on what we are thankful for in honour of the upcoming holiday Monday. We have some good writers in Div 3!

We had our first Enrichment afternoon today! I had a great time with my Textiles group, we did some health and safety and then played with plastic lacing! Also, thanks to the cooking group for sharing some of their rice crispy squares with me!

In PE we did our first Fitness Assessment! It was tons of fun!

We received the final piece of text for our Dictee this week, students are reminded that Friday is the Examen. Some time should be spent reviewing the texts and/or the vocab in preparation. Some review options include rewriting the text and/or vocab, saying them out loud etc.

As a practice in class, we did a blooket! Here is the link if anyone wants to practice at home on their own device Dictee 1 Blooket Please use your name in some capacity so I know who you are.

Students will find out their Enrichment choices on Friday.

Tomorrow Mme Shak will be there, I know you will all have a great day together!

Another smokey day here! Thankful for the nice weather though.

Day 2 of Dictée this week. Most students are settling well into the routine. We have 1 more chunk of new text tomorrow then the Examen on Friday.

  • 7mes- Math: Finish the first page of Division for tomorrow

Turned into a bit of a smokey day! Hope you all enjoyed a lovely long weekend 🙂

It’s so exciting that we actually have a full week together!

We started our weekly Dictée program today. The first 3 days of the week, students are given 3 pieces of text and some vocabulary, as well as a weekly grammatical or verb conjugation rule that we practice. On the last day of the week the 3 pieces of text are combined into an Examen, which is how students are evaluated. At the beginning of the following week, students are given a quiz on the weekly rule. Students are encouraged to bring their Dictée home to review the text, the vocab or both, as well as the weekly rule in preparation for the Examen and Quiz. We will talk more about this in class as the days progress and students get more exposure to the routine.
