Friday- we party! The class came together and purchased a class party, yahoo! I’m not sure we have any more details than that, they have tomorrow to try and figure it out 🙂 Hopefully we have some yumyums and something fun to do?

We continued work on our paragraphs in French, good copies will begin on Friday after some thorough revision and correction. Math happened, 6s are working on finding factors.

Work continued on our haunted houses, so many successful circuits were built today! The goal is to finish on Friday so we can light them all up, turn off the lights and do a spooky gallery walk 🙂

Brrrr! What a dreary day! I think we can expect the same the rest of the week unfortunately… please remind your child to prepare and dress accordingly for these conditions!

Today was busy! We continued planning our paragraphe de la semaine, split off for ADST. The grade 7s conducted their survey for YE today, and persevered in unpleasant conditions. Next time we meet we will go over results and continue with the process. Students have probably already gleaned some information from the process today, and should continue with production of their product at home.

After recess and lunch, we continued work on our maisons hauntées. They are looking good, some have even wired up their circuits! Work continues tomorrow.

Good luck to our grade 6 volleyball players at their game this afternoon!

Les Devoirs:

Happy Monday! No inside recess for us today so Mme was happy today 🙂

We were busy today! Started a paragraph of the week in French, switched for Math, and then began a super fun Science project- a lit up haunted house! (or some other themed lit up house). Students have begun the process of constructing and decorating their houses, and will finish by wiring up one or two elements to light up using coin batteries, copper tape and LEDs. The entire class was super engaged before and after lunch. We’ve got some great looking houses in the works!

Students are to have their Fall Learning Update in their backpacks today, please take a moment to look it over. You would have heard from me already if there were any major concerns.

What a productive day!

This morning the class wrote their Quiz: Verbes ER au présent. Afterwards we switched for ADST and the grade 7s did some practice market research in preparation for their survey conducting next week.

After recess we watched a couple videos on circuits and then used different materials to make our own! Students were tasked with building a basic circuit in series, then with a switch, multiple bulbs, adding more batteries etc. They then tried to build a parallel circuit before we ran out of materials. Super fun!

Good luck to our grade 6s who have their first volleyball game this afternoon!

Day 1 of volleyball in PE! We just started off with some basics, proper form and technique for volleying and bumping. Looking forward to more over the next few weeks.

We wrote our second Examen de DictĂ©e. I was pleased to see over 30 different plays on the Blooket practice! That shows that practice is happening at home in preparation, can’t wait to see how that translates to the examen results.

During Math, the 7s wrote their Divisibility Test and the 6s worked with common multiples and PPMC.

We switched again for ADST. In Young Entrepreneurs, we set some goals for ourselves and had a few people share out their product ideas, and a big shout out to Mia for sharing her prototype and walking us through her process. I was very impressed with the feedback and questions that others had for Mia, very supportive, encouraging and constructive. Students are encouraged to bring in their own prototypes in order to share and receive feedback. The 6s continued to create their “show me what you can do with powerpoint” projects. They will receive one final block next week before it is due.

Les Devoirs:

  • lundi- Action de Grâce
  • mardi- Quiz: Ă€/A/As (keep doing the blooket!)
    • 6s- Problème de la Semaine 3 (Briques), feuille (DĂ©couverte des Multiples) due

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend, I am looking forward to lots of time with family and delicious food 🙂 À mardi!
