Hope you all had a lovely weekend 🙂

We had about half the class present their Moi Dans Un Sac this morning. Lots of diverse interests, love to see it. Anyone who did not present today should be prepared to present tomorrow.

Grade 6s had their double block of Math today. We are continuing with place value and also began our Problème de la Semaine activity that will be an ongoing math assignment throughout the year.

We also met with our little buddies for the first time. We did a walk and talk around the path to get to know each other, then finished by playing on the primary playground. I love watching the big buddies with their littles, such a great opportunity to show empathy and to engage constructively with younger students.

And that’s a wrap on our first official week together! I thanked the class at the end of today for an absolutely lovely week together. I am excited for all the fun and wonderful things we are going to accomplish together this year 🙂

This morning I presented my Moi Dans Un Sac (you can ask your child what items I brought. We will begin student presentations on Monday. We also did a fun French syllable activity with fruit vocabulary and then switched for Math. After recess, we went to the gym for the first time and ran some collaborative rope activities. I was very impressed at the communication and creativity in the groups. After lunch we went outside and played 4 Sur Les Sièges, and had a lot of fun, ask your child how it works! We also began monthly calendars that will be displayed for the class and will continue to work on them next week.

Another lovely day 🙂

We discussed the last element of the class economy today (ask them what it is!). After that, we read a Rentrée Scolaire texte (en francais) and completed a few exercises with information from the text.

We did a full Math switch today. 6mes are doing a place value/number sense refresher and adding to their knowledge with millions and billions.

The students finished their day at either Band or Library.

Just a reminder that on Thursday Mme Huard will be here, she dropped by to say hi this morning and is looking forward to seeing you all demain 🙂

Bravo to everyone who gave me their answer to the blog question from yesterday 🙂

Today was Day 1 of our Classroom Economy. Students applied (and some received) jobs, everyone got a wallet and even their first Soo-bucks! We also discussed ways they can earn or receive money, as well as how much rent they will pay each month. Ask them for more details!

Grade 6s also say Ms Hu for the first time and grade 7s went to Math with Mme Gaudet.

You should have received an email from Mrs Sollows about hot lunch orders.

Les Devoirs:

  • 7mes- Orchestre demain (yes, I checked)

BONJOUR ET BIENVENUE!

Welcome to Division 3!

That way, each day you will receive an email of that day’s post, and you won’t need to actually remember the blog address. The blog is a great way for your child and you to stay on top of the class and school events, especially if they have been away.

Today was an introductory day to Division 3. We made our name tags, organized our supplies, did a bit of get to know you and the 7s went off to Band while the 6s had Math. The week will continue with us getting set up and easing into the academic side of school.

If supplies have not yet been acquired, you should have received an email from Mrs Sollows today with instructions. Some that were ordered are still in transit. Students will have time to organize them when they arrive.
