Happy Soggy Monday. Some students are coming home damp from running around on the muddy fields during recesses.
2 more weeks until Winter Break!
We started our final text feature project today- Winter Traditions Around the World. Students have picked a different winter tradition and are creating a one-pager full of different text features. Due date is this Wednesday.
Tomorrow, we have our final meeting before the YE Fair on Friday. Come ready to finish your business plan and/or poster!

Today was a relatively chill day, Miss D concert to start, after recess we watched the back half of the FIFA pool draw then did our Examen de Dictée 5. After lunch we switched for ADST, the 6s worked on a fun project and the 7s worked on some financials for Young Entrepreneurs.
Grade 7s- this is your LAST weekend before the YE Fair on Friday! We will meet ONCE more before then, otherwise, keep working on:

Well that was a fun and productive day!
This morning we did our Dictée, then used some letter dice to play a vocab review game (my first time trying this), and it went really well! Everyone was super engaged! Can’t wait to try again!
We switched for Math, and the 6s are working on graphing in the first quadrant.
After recess, we did some English writing! Students were given the choice between 4 prompts and text structures, and spent the block brainstorming, planning, writing, reviewing and publishing their ideas.
After lunch we played some Blookets (for Dictée and Text Structures) before splitting off for the rest of the day.
Vendredi:

Day 1 of volleyball in PE! We just started off with some basics, proper form and technique for volleying and bumping. Looking forward to more over the next few weeks.
We wrote our second Examen de Dictée. I was pleased to see over 30 different plays on the Blooket practice! That shows that practice is happening at home in preparation, can’t wait to see how that translates to the examen results.
During Math, the 7s wrote their Divisibility Test and the 6s worked with common multiples and PPMC.
We switched again for ADST. In Young Entrepreneurs, we set some goals for ourselves and had a few people share out their product ideas, and a big shout out to Mia for sharing her prototype and walking us through her process. I was very impressed with the feedback and questions that others had for Mia, very supportive, encouraging and constructive. Students are encouraged to bring in their own prototypes in order to share and receive feedback. The 6s continued to create their “show me what you can do with powerpoint” projects. They will receive one final block next week before it is due.

Another productive Friday!
We played some pickle ball again today, always fun.
Students received their Quiz:Et/Est back, they were very well done overall! We also tried out a French reading activity today that went pretty well.
We switched for Math, Problem of the Week/ Problème de la Semaine #2 was due. 6s are reviewing and practicing their multiplication facts and finishing up their Evaluation de Placement de Valeur. 7s are continuing with divisibility? I think…
After a tasty hot lunch, we switched for ADST for the first time. Grade 7s will be participating in Young Entrepreneurs this term, our Fair will take place the week of December 8-12 (the second to last week before Winter Break), for those trying to make plans. I will confirm the date next week. We had a really great conversation about successful businesses, previous success and learning from participating in YE, things we’re looking forward to etc. Guidelines and products that are not permitted were also discussed. Students will receive their booklets and more information next week.
We ended the day with some students using the pizza boxes to make a line of dominos 🙂
