A very exciting day for the 7s- WGSS Gr 8 Course Info! Each student is coming home with a blue or blue and yellow course forms. These are not due back until Feb 20, well after the Parent Info Session, forms returned before then will be sent back to you. Students were also shown the relevant WGSS Course Planning websites, linked HERE and HERE.
6s are working with mixed numbers and improper fractions in Math, I was very encouraged by the conversation and output by the class today.
We also did a preceding activity for our English class novel this term, I’m excited to unveil the book tomorrow 🙂
7s began their Sciences Humaines journey this afternoon, Prehistory is our focus this term 🙂

Concours has officially begun! We went over the rules, the rubric, the schedule and had a few moments to begin brainstorming topics this morning. I will add the schedule to the blog so anyone can see at anytime where we are at. The 7 week countdown to presentations is on!
After recess we switched for Math- 7s are working on translation on a graph and 6s worked with manipulatives to visualize fractions greater than 1.
After lunch, 7s went to Band and 6s went to Sciences Humaines the first time. 7s will have their first block of SH tomorrow.
Afterwards, we did our first On Partage! Part of our preparation for Concours will be to present in front of the class in short bursts about a fun topic. Today’s was, in your opinion, what season is best? The class did great- volume, all in French and ideas explained are the 3 criteria and I was very impressed. Bravo les amis! The results: 1- printemps, 5- automne, 6,5- été, 11,5- hiver.
Grade 7s- WGSS GRADE 8 COURSE SELECTION PRESENTATION tomorrow morning. A very important thing you do not want to miss!

And that’s a wrap on our first week of 2026! We eased back into it but we also did some good learning.
Next week, it gets real. Concours begins, Sciences Humans begins, Math continues and so on and so on. Term 2 is short but intense, buckle up!

Today was pretty chill. We did a class cleanup this morning followed by pancakes after recess and finished with a pretty chill class party. Thanks to everyone who brought yumyums to share!
Mme Huard and I would like to say an enormous thank you for all the kind gestures we received over the last week. You are so very generous and kind, and we appreciate it all. We wish you all the safest, healthiest and happiest winter break, and will see you in the new year!

What a fun day!
We started by watching the K-5 concert this morning, very well done and adorable!
This afternoon, the class introduced me to GimKit, super fun! We also did a fun “keep the beat” challenge several times, very entertaining 🙂
Tomorrow is rehearsal day for the 6/7 Ensemble Showcase. 7s need their instruments and 6s need whatever they might need.
Thursday- Concert Day! (instruments and whatever else, what are we wearing?) Also make sure you bring in your Secret Santa gift! If you don’t bring one in, you don’t get one in exchange!
Friday- we will do a little clean up/out of the chalet in preparation for the break, and you have purchased class party- Annika and Asuka are in charge!

Happy last week before winter break!
This morning the 7s counted up their money and calculated their profit and 10% donation to Giving Trees. I can proudly share that the French Fries have so far donated $210!
After lunch we did some reading about Hanukkah and then learned how to play dreidel and ate some yummy treats.
Tomorrow is the Primary Winter Concert, so there is no band or music.
